The Sterling Event Center in Central Florida is one of those European-style wedding venues in the U.S. that transport you across the continent, to Tuscany, Italy to be exact.
I collaborated with Lora Wardman Events and Blu Grass Chic Weddings to create a classic and romantic editorial shoot just about a month after the venue opened.
I first went out to see the venue last October and although there were no windows and there was clearly lots more construction work to be done, I caught the vision right away after LaRai Hebert, Sterling’s General Manager, showed me renderings of what the interior and exterior were going to look like. Stepping outside towards the back immediately reminded me of the Tuscan countryside and I knew this wedding venue was something unique to Central Florida.
On the next visit, I went with Lora who also equaled my enthusiasm for the venue’s special European style and we got to work. We wanted to showcase the rich wood throughout the interior, especially the signature staircase with its wrought iron railing, perfect for the wedding couple to make a grand entrance for their guests. To make this happen, Lora designed a stunning and classic arch with cream roses, greenery, and sprinkled with Babies Breath. She also created a beautiful romantic tablescape using gold chargers and candlelight. For outside, we also wanted the lush landscape, the cascading stone waterfall, and the winding stone path to be the focal point.
Two gorgeous dresses were provided by Jessica at Definition Bridal, one with romantic off-shoulder sheer sleeves and the other a more traditional dress with thin beaded straps and lace bodice and veil.
Hair and Makeup were provided by @bronzeglowbeauty, rentals were provided by @rentalsbyrwevents, and the wedding suite was created by @plumeandproper. Our model was @mollygaver_
