After having to postpone their wedding two times because of the pandemic, Olga and Jim finally exchanged their marriage vows in a small intimate wedding in Orlando.
Their boutique wedding included a total guest list of 10, their four grown kids, Jim’s daughter’s boyfriend, and Olga’s parents. The ceremony was performed by Jim’s college friend who made the trip up from South Florida. They chose the beautiful waterfront Canvas Restaurant and Market in Lake Nona. Canvas offers a small partitioned private dining room with panoramic views of the lake.
You can see by these photos, you don’t need to have elaborate decor for your tables when planning a small intimate wedding of under 25 guests. Olga chose to have the chair backs wrapped in tulle and tied with burlap with a small floral. Tables had a simple metallic blue vase with flowers and a wooden lantern. The look was rustic, but yet simply lovely and elegant.
We did formal pictures right outside in Lake Nona’s Laureate Park where there is a very unique stained “Glass House,” created by Brooklyn-based artist Tom Fruin. The glass house is a stunning kaleidoscopic piece that was made from reclaimed materials. It’s a super cool backdrop for portraits.
I wanted to get some more portraits of Olga and Jim by the water but didn’t have too much time since we were all pretty much melting under the hot and humid afternoon sun. It turned out just a few minutes was all I needed to get some fun and tender moments of them.
After pictures, everyone headed into the private dining room overlooking the water where Olga and Jim exchanged their vows.
Looking on were Alex and Christina (Olga’s twin daughters), Jim’s kids Travis and Delaney, and Delaney’s boyfriend.
Olga’s father gave his blessings to Olga and Jim.
Oviedo Florist provided the bridal bouquet and the cake was from Publix.
As everyone was waiting on dinner, I saw amazing afternoon setting sunlight coming into the room and knew I could capture some amazing portraits of Olga alone. I especially wanted to highlight the stunning lace inseam because I just loved it!
So, if you’re looking for a boutique venue where you can get married with a small group, check out The Canvas Restaurant and Market in Lake Nona. They can put together a fantastic menu for your wedding. See Olga and Jim’s wedding menu as a sample.
