Newly engaged in the DMV? Congratulations! Chances are you’re trying to find a professional photographer in Washington, DC to document your engagement and wedding in the nation’s capital. When looking at photographers, it’s always a good idea to see their latest work. That’s why I’m sharing a recent engagement session I did at the FDR Memorial, one of the city’s prized memorials.
Nephthalie and CJ love waterfalls so it made perfect sense that they would choose to have their engagement photos taken at the FDR, a sweeping memorial that covers 7.5 acres along the southwest side of the Tidal Basin. The FDR actually has five outdoor rooms- one as a prologue and four for the unprecedented four terms of FDR. The waterfalls and pools placed throughout the memorial represent the important role water played in FDR’s life.
We started their photos at the first waterfall which was a nice, clean and simple waterfall backdrop. They both dressed in black and came bearing an appropriate bottle of champagne and Mr & Mrs flutes. Nephthalie’s dress was super fun with a fringe border which made for great movement during their session. Luckily, she didn’t get too wet when it was time to pop open the champagne!
I can’t wait for their wedding this fall along the Eastern shore of Maryland at Celebrations at the Bay.
