As a Maryland wedding photographer, I feel so blessed to have the beautiful eastern shore of the Chesapeake Bay available at my disposal. There are several gorgeous venues that I’ve photographed at and I’m sharing one of my recent weddings at Kurtz Beach in Pasadena, Maryland.
I started my coverage for Alyssa and Dalton’s wedding at the venue’s Port Royal Cottage to photograph Alyssa and her bridesmaids getting ready. Dalton and his groomsmen used Jake’s Cottage on the water to get dressed.
Once Alyssa was dressed and looked stunning in her dress, the emotions started flowing, from her first looks with her Dad and Dalton, to a private vow reading in the garden. It was there under the sunlit pergola that she and Dalton poured their heart out to one another. Even though I’ve photographed years worth of weddings, I found it hard to focus while fighting back my own my tears. And this was all happening before their ceremony!
We did portraits and wedding party photos in the beautifully landscaped gardens by the cottage. The afternoon light was cooperating nicely.
Their official wedding ceremony took place at the venue’s waterfront Gazebo Hill event space a few blocks from the cottage.
We used the waterfront patio for family and sunset photos after the ceremony. The cocktail hour was held in the reception area of the Bay Room, an eight sided ballroom featuring a vaulted ceiling, stone accents, and spectacular water views of the Chesapeake Bay.
Table scapes consisted of blue napkins and gold-rimmed chairs, along with blue hydrangea centerpieces. Their cake had a cute custom heart-shaped topper featuring the two of them and their three cats. The cats’s names were used for signature cocktails.
Tender tears continued as Alyssa and Dalton took to the dance floor for their first dance as a married couple.
From then on everyone was in full party mode. Alyssa and Dalton played the shoe game as part of their wedding festivities. The shoe game involves a host asking questions and each of the spouses raises the shoe when they think they are the ones that match the question. Not sure who got most of the answers correct, but it was a lot of fun. A sparkler exit closed out this great night.
