Chantel and Jean’s Washington, DC Georgetown wedding at Pinstripes was a day to remember. I first met them last spring at The Wharf for their engagement session and was so excited that their wedding day was finally here.
To start off her day, Chantel and her bridesmaids got ready at the nearby Westin Georgetown. The original plan was to have her first look with Jean at the hotel in the courtyard, but the space was not available because they were setting up for another wedding. It was also raining so it was time to resort to plan B and do their first look at the venue.
The change in plans didn’t phase Chantel or Jean and the atmosphere in both of their rooms was full of joy and anticipation. There was even a surprise special delivery to Jean’s room for his eyes only, wink, wink…
One thing I remembered after photographing Chantel before was her radiant smile and I was really looking forward to doing her bridal portraits. The light streaming in from the Westin was magical and as before, Chantel looked so gorgeous and elegant.
Over at Pinstripes, when she saw Jean for the first time in his tux, she got a little emotional. It’s usually the groom that does so, but I thought it was incredibly sweet and endearing and Jean was so tender-hearted toward his beautiful bride.
After doing some wedding party formals, there was more time to work with Chantel and Jean for portraits. The sun was setting just over the canal and it was perfect just outside Pinstripes.
And before you knew it, they were married! Afterwards, cocktail hour was held in the bowling alley. I worked quickly to finish Chantel and Jean’s family portraits so they could enjoy a toast in the bowling alley before their reception.
Their reception decor used warm fall hues with drapes, gold-rimmed plates, votives, and tapers. Everything tied in beautifully with the wood floors and brick walls.
Chantel and Jean’s reception toasts given by family members were heartfelt and full of emotion. And the dancing was equally spirited, right up until their sparkler exit.
