As a Washington DC engagement photographer, I’ve learned you can’t always depend on the weather to cooperate with your plans for engagement photos, but that doesn’t mean you necessarily have to reschedule either.
On the morning of Samantha and Mike’s engagement session, the weather forecast was calling for rain. I was still holding out hope that the rain would clear out before their session in downtown Baltimore, but packed my clear umbrellas just in case.
When we arrived, it was pretty obvious the clouds and the rain were going to be hanging around. Luckily, Samantha and Mike had great attitudes and were willing to just go with the flow.
They both work and met at Under Armour which is located across the river so I wanted to be sure I got some photos of them with that in the background. This was a challenge given the cloudy skies, but I made it work.
As we walked around and I continued to photograph them under their umbrella along the pier, some of the most romantic moments happened and all of a sudden, I found myself grateful for this wonderful rainy engagement session!
I decided that we needed a break from the rain so we found a cute covered patio area with bistro lights and it turned out to be the perfect spot to capture their playfulness together.
The rain stopped for a bit and so I followed Samantha and Mike along the quaint cobblestone streets around the shops in Fells Point. This was the area where they had one of their first dates and still is one of their favorite places to go out.
Back out on the pier again for one last grand waltz together… I couldn’t have asked for better weather because these are some of my all-time favorites from my engagement sessions.
