It was a gorgeous summer day for Brittani and Matt’s Chesapeake Bay wedding at Herrington on the Bay in North Beach, Maryland.
Brittani chose to have her wedding ceremony at the Herrington Bay Garden and the reception inside the Yacht Club. The wedding party stayed at the Inn on site which was steps away from the garden ceremony space and waterfront area. I started my wedding coverage by documenting her details in a flat-lay photo as they were getting ready before their first look.
Brittani decided to do her own hair and makeup and even helped her Mom with hers. I grabbed this sweet moment of the two of them.
Brittani had custom gifts made for her MOH, bridesmaids, Mother, and Matt’s Mom.
Meanwhile, Matt was patiently waiting to see Brittani in her dress for their first look overlooking the Chesapeake Bay.
Brittani made her way toward Matt as he was waiting for her in the garden.
Herrington On the Bay’s garden area includes a mix of native and exotic flowers nestled with butterfly bushes, flowering red and yellow hibiscus, ponytail palms — and of course, a gorgeous view of the Chesapeake Bay. I chose to take some portraits of Brittani and Matt in the garden as well as along the paver waterfront path.
Brittani and Matt’s ceremony was a blend of both Christian and Jewish traditions and brought me to tears. To end the ceremony, Matt broke a glass wrapped in a cloth. In the Jewish religion, the fragility of glass suggests the frailty of human relationships. Since even the strongest love is subject to breaking, the glass is broken as a kind of incantation: “As this glass shatters, so may our marriage never break.”
Their first dance was to “Amazed” by Lonestar.
Brittani and her Dad did a mash-up father-daughter dance to “I swear” which was a huge success.
We couldn’t miss the opportunity to take amazing sunset portraits along the dock outside the yacht club.
Brittani changed into a stunning floral cocktail dress for her last dances with Matt and for their sparkler send-off.
