After living and working in DC for three years, I discovered a new Dupont wedding venue close to home. Tucked away on a tree-lined street just off Dupont Circle, this industrial studio space, Toolbox DC, blends art and events in the most unique way.
The photos from Ty and Hillary’s wedding at Toolbox DC showcase all the elements that makes this venue so special.
Toolbox DC is a working Pilates studio by day, but transforms into one of the most charming and intimate wedding spaces in the city. What makes it truly different is its industrial-meets-art-gallery vibe, with exposed brick walls, sleek hardwood floors, and rotating contemporary artwork.
The Dupont wedding venue gives couples the freedom to customize their wedding how they envision using its minimal and artistic backdrop.
Ty and Hillary wanted an intimate setting that felt cozy but still elevated, and Toolbox DC delivered. With enough room for about 60 guests, it struck the perfect balance: close-knit, but not too cramped. The two-story layout is open and versatile, making it easy to transition from ceremony to cocktail hour and dinner without needing a full venue flip. Their cocktail hour was held downstairs while their reception space upstairs was flipped for their reception dinner. Dancing took place on the first floor. One thing to note is that the venue does not have an elevator.
Because of Toolbox DC’s intimate size, Ty and Hillary were able to truly connect with every guest. There were heartfelt toasts, unscripted and joyful moments that make small weddings so special.
The small alley leading up to the Dupont wedding venue offers a space for couple portraits, as well as nearby Dupont Circle.
If you’re looking for a Dupont wedding venue that offers charm, character, and a one-of-a-kind experience, Toolbox DC is a great option. Whether you’re planning a micro-wedding or an intimate celebration with close friends and family, this space offers a creative canvas that can work with just about any wedding vision.
