It’s easy to see why Rose Hill Manor in Leesburg, Virginia, is one of the top wedding venue favorites among DC photographers like myself. Who wouldn’t love an elegant two-story Jeffersonian manor house on 22 private acres about an hour away from Washington, DC?
DC photographers love wedding venues with photographic appeal. I quickly became a fan of Rose Hill Manor after I photographed Allyson and Yousif’s wedding. From the moment I walked up to the majestic front of the manor and saw the grand windows, I knew it was going to be wonderful for both interior and exterior wedding photography.
On the second floor, Allyson and her bridesmaids were getting ready in the largest suite with two adjoining rooms and a private bath. Yousif and his groomsmen were using the second private room across the second floor landing. It was super easy to keep these two from not seeing each other until their ceremony.
There is another large sitting room with a small balcony on the second floor. I used this to photograph their wedding details. The room was also wonderful to photograph Yousif alone and on the balcony with his groomsmen. He also read the special vows Allyson wrote to him on the balcony.
As for Allyson and her bridesmaids, there was plenty of room in both rooms for pictures. The window and floor length mirror was all I needed to create stunning portraits of Allyson. She also read the vows written by Yousif here.
Her Dad was waiting outside on the manor front steps for Allyson to get a first glimpse of his girl which was so sweet.
Outdoor ceremony spaces are another favorite for DC photographers. Rose Hill Manor has one of the largest outdoor patios in the state of Virginia. Their ceremony was held in the beautiful columned Pergola facing the manor house. There were rose petals in sachets for the guests to throw after the ceremony. Allyson and Yousif used a special love lock keepsake as part of their vows.
We used the adjoining garden for their portraits and formal group photos.
The grand ballroom at the Rose Hill Manor offers chandeliers, fireplaces, crystal wall sconces, and 24 inch ceilings. This spacious ballroom can accommodate 200 guests and has a dance floor in the center.
After dinner, a professional bellydancer entertained the guests before the dancing began. In between dancing, guests went outside to the Marigold VW bus photo booth to get their keepsake photos.
They had both bubbles and sparklers for their grand exit.
