I’m excited to share the story and photos from Shelby and Pierre’s (see their DC engagement photos) gorgeous fall wedding at Cana Vineyards , one of the top winery wedding venues near DC in northern Virginia.
What I love about weddings at Cana Vineyards & Winery is the gorgeous view of the sweeping hills that surround the vineyards. It’s also nice that it is a family-owned farm winery. The venue is located in southern Loudoun County, less than an hour’s drive from Washington, DC. The winery and grounds offer several settings for weddings and events and can accommodate up to 200 guests.
Shelby and Pierre’s wedding ceremony took place near sunset in the vineyard with the stunning backdrop of the Bull Run Mountains. Their reception was in the Sunset Pavilion, a rustic space with a grand stone fireplace and gorgeous southwest views.
Shelby and her bridesmaids got ready in the bridal suite located on the second floor of the Harvest Room.
I actually scouted out Cana before their wedding and once I saw the ornate staircase in the Harvest Room, I had visions of photographing Shelby there. Thankfully, the afternoon light was pouring in from the windows to create a stunning portrait of her.
After her portraits, it was time to for her to meet Pierre outside so he could see her for the first time in her dress. His expression did not disappoint. Gorgeous afternoon sun was shining in the vineyard and I had no doubt it was going to be perfect for their portraits and wedding party photos.
They couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful afternoon to have their wedding ceremony. The fall foliage surrounding the ceremony area and the wedding florals and bouquets were simply amazing. A harpist provided tranquil music before the ceremony started.
The gorgeous fall rich colors and decor continued into their reception at the Sunset Pavilion. Using a popular trend, they opted for an elaborate dessert bar instead of a large wedding cake. The display was warmly lit and so inviting, not to mention how yummy the desserts looked!
After their first dance, I captured this romantic kiss at their sweetheart table.
When the dance floor opened, pretty much all of their guests were on their feet dancing the night away.
Their sparkler exit was an epic way to end their phenomenal winery wedding at Cana Vineyards.
Nadine, thank you for capturing our wedding day for us to cherish forever! Thanks for being our wedding photographer!
Shelby, you’re so very welcome! Your beautiful winery wedding was a joy to photograph for you!
