Sarah and Bobby had a beautiful rustic Maryland wedding in October at the Crown Rose Estate in Knoxville.
The day started off a little shaky with scattered rain in the forecast so Sarah had secured a tent ahead of the day for her ceremony. She had originally planned on having it outside by the pond or in the English rose garden.
They both got ready inside the venue’s charming 165-year-old historic mansion. Sarah and her bridal party were upstairs while Bobby, bestman, and Sarah’s Dad were downstairs. The bridal suite includes access to an upstairs covered balcony overlooking the front of the property. I chose to do her bridal pictures there with her Mom, grandmother, and maid of honor. There was also a quite large landing with turn-of-the-century light fixtures and wallpaper off the bridal suite that was great for Sarah to put on her dress and get help from her Mom and others.
Sarah and Bobby only wanted to do first look with their parents so the sweetest first look with her Dad took place in the foyer and Bobby’s first look with his Mom happened on the front porch.
Sarah was tucked away in a sitting room inside the barn and was able to calm her nerves before the ceremony.
That gave me a few minutes to also take some photos of their beautiful rustic wedding fall decor that was all created by family members.
The tent worked out beautifully for their ceremony.
Immediately after their exit, I loved capturing Sarah’s expression once she realized they were just married.
It stopped raining just in time for their formal portraits and for a stroll in the lovely English Rose garden. I was so amazed that there were still lots of roses blooming just for them!
The restored historic barn has been restored to retain its original rustic features.
Some special reception highlights include an emotional toast from Sarah’s maid of honor and a last-minute decision to start throwing glowsticks onto the dance floor from the barn’s balcony.
Sarah and Bobby shared a last dance to themselves before their sendoff which was a perfect ending to their beautiful wedding.
